Sarah Friesen, Founder
Sarah grew up in the Tacoma area, and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Seattle Pacific University. Her career began in volunteer coordination and fundraising for local and international non-profits. In 1997, she transitioned to the corporate world and has extensive experience in personnel recruitment and project management. 2011 brought about a fabulous opportunity to enter the world of Professional Home Management, and she incorporated her company as the team grew in size and expertise.
In 2014, Sarah received the bi-annual Rising Star Award from Alliance of Women Owned Businesses. This award honors a woman entrepreneur who has owned her business for less than five years, and is already showing the persistence, tenacity and leadership to make a difference in her business and community.
Joining NASMM truly changed her life, as she recognized the great need and potential for assisting older adults during the often overwhelming task of moving to a new home. With continuing classes in senior move management and aging-in-place support, she is always ready to take on a new challenge.
After four years at the helm of Gig Harbor Home Management, Sarah couldn’t pass up the opportunity to offer personalized move management services to future residents of the upcoming Heron’s Key Life Care Community. As Heron’s Key full-time Move-In Coordinator, she speaks at downsizing workshops, coordinates resident social events, and provides personalized assistance to 140+ future residents with planning, timelines, and important downsizing/moving decisions.
With construction underway and move-ins starting in May of 2017, she’s honored to play such a pivotal role in assisting retirees with making such a big transition to their new home.
Sarah’s articles will continue to run in Gig Harbor’s Living Local magazine, and you can follow her on the Heron’s Key Blog while keeping an eye on Heron’s Key’s live construction camera. She’s excited to see the building change every week, and can’t wait to hand over the first set of keys! With 194 Independent Living apartments and cottages, she’s got her hands full!
She’s thrilled that Rightsizing for Seniors will now be servicing the Gig Harbor area, and that Loire, Amy and Patty will be joining their team in order to continue providing high quality services to seniors who are moving to a new home. Click here to learn more about Rightsizing for Seniors.
