Amy Jones, Transition Coordinator
Amy joined GHHM in 2015, probably thinking she’d just help us with a little project here and there. And lo and behold – we can’t imagine our team without her! Before joining GHHM, Amy began working as a Home Care Aid after seeing how challenging it was for her mother to care for her own out-of-state parents. Senior Move Management was a natural fit for Amy, and after helping us with the large move of the entire Memory Care unit at The Lodge, she was hooked.
As Transition Coordinator, Amy connects with our clients, manages our schedules and keeps us all on track. She spends hours assisting our senior clients with sorting, organizing and preparing for a move to a new home and finds it incredibly rewarding to help others through their often challenging transition. She admits to getting quite attached to our clients, and sure enjoys getting to know each of them on personal level.
When she isn’t managing someone’s move, this soon to be empty-nester loves to spend time boating and camping with her family, cooking, reading, serving at her church and watching football (of course!).
Sarah Friesen, Founder
Sarah grew up in the Tacoma area, and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Seattle Pacific University. Her career began in volunteer coordination and fundraising for local and international non-profits. In 1997, she transitioned to the corporate world and has extensive experience in personnel recruitment and project management. 2011 brought about a fabulous opportunity to enter the world of Professional Home Management, and she incorporated her company as the team grew in size and expertise.
In 2014, Sarah received the bi-annual Rising Star Award from Alliance of Women Owned Businesses. This award honors a woman entrepreneur who has owned her business for less than five years, and is already showing the persistence, tenacity and leadership to make a difference in her business and community.
Joining NASMM truly changed her life, as she recognized the great need and potential for assisting older adults during the often overwhelming task of moving to a new home. With continuing classes in senior move management and aging-in-place support, she is always ready to take on a new challenge.
In November, 2015 Sarah began a role with the upcoming Heron’s Key Life Care Community as their full-time Move-In Coordinator. With a construction completion date of spring, 2017 she has her work cut out for her as she begins to assist their future residents with planning, timelines, and important decisions leading up to their move. With a great team still running the show at GHHM, she’s excited to begin an exciting new phase of her journey within the senior move industry.
